This July, my long-awaited trip to Jeju finally happened, and I knew I wanted to dive deep into the Jungmun Resort Area. It's often recommended for first-time visitors, and now I totally understand why!

Another gem is Cheonjeyeon Falls. This three-tiered waterfall is often called 'The Pond of God's Emperor,' and it lives up to the name. The vibrant green foliage surrounding the falls, especially lush in July, creates a serene and almost magical atmosphere. Don't miss the Seonimgyo Bridge, a beautiful arch bridge adorned with seven nymphs – it offers fantastic photo opportunities and connects to walking paths.

For art lovers, the Alive Museum (Trick Eye Museum) is a fantastic spot. It’s an interactive art museum where you become part of the artworks. We spent ages laughing and taking hilarious photos with the 3D optical illusions. It’s a perfect indoor activity, especially if you encounter a sudden summer shower, which can happen in July.
Getting Around and Tips for First-Timers
The Jungmun Resort Area is very well-connected. If you're relying on public transport, local buses are efficient, and many routes pass through the main attractions. Taxis are also readily available, and renting a car offers the most flexibility, especially if you plan to explore beyond Jungmun. I found that having a car allowed me to venture to some quieter spots and enjoy the scenic coastal roads at my own pace.
My top tip for first-time visitors in July 2026? Start your days early! The summer sun can be quite strong by mid-day, and popular spots can get crowded. Early mornings offer cooler temperatures and a more peaceful experience. Also, always carry sunscreen, a hat, and plenty of water – staying hydrated is key when exploring under the Jeju summer sun.
